Elon Musk’s eccentricities keep on coming.

This time, the Tesla and SpaceX founder is sticking up for ex-presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

Sanders, a self-proclaimed socialist who never declared a candidacy, has garnered a significant following since launching his campaign in 2015. The self-described democratic socialist has since rose to prominence in progressive circles and was a potential Democratic contender for the 2016 presidential race, before he decided to withdraw from the race.

Musk took to Twitter on Wednesday to publicly offer his endorsement for Sanders, saying: “I just now left a meeting with Bernie Sanders, who is a friend, also a minority who seems to have amazing energy and enthusiasm. Am glad to have met him. I also like his views on climate change. Does anyone care to buy my stuff & vote for him?”

Sanders responded, saying, “Ok, dude, so @elonmusk just told me what to do and how to do it. Ergo, he clearly knows who I am and how to get elected. I’m happy to hire him!”

Musk continues to focus on personal projects as CEO of Tesla and SpaceX.

Though it is Sanders’ habit of buying high-profile products, he doesn’t seem to be able to keep them and sell them well. His joke has been on funny in recent years and not always well received.
