Ten Arrested in Strip Club Drugstore Robbery Spree, Officer Charged

A San Francisco police officer who was on administrative leave for allegedly stealing pain pills from a drugstore was arrested for the alleged stickup Thursday night after a sheriff’s deputy recognized him at a strip club and followed him.

Five masked robbers were also arrested at the Safe Harbor Gentleman’s Club, a popular West San Francisco venue.

An investigation began Feb. 13 after theft officers were dispatched to the Rite Aid pharmacy on Judah Street near Leavenworth Street. There, officers spoke with employees who told them they had all been robbed at gunpoint by multiple suspects wearing ski masks.

The employees said a San Francisco police officer had used a store receipt to pick up pain pills from the pharmacy.

The officers added that the Rite Aid employees told them the suspect had also been seen at the club the night before. The associates at the club agreed to watch for the officer and other alleged thieves as a precaution.
